The asymmetrical rising spiral motif of our logo is our guarantee that our initiatives
will surely inspire fashion designers of cutting edge styles
and lead them to the new stage - it is in fact the guarantee
of inspiration.
This motif derives from a community comprised of quality
corporations and organizations, craftsmanship inheriting
traditions of Japanese fabrics and yarns, and flexible
strength of Japanese culture. |

| The Bishu region, situated on the Nobi plain and formed
by the limpidwaters of the Kisogawa River, is situated
almost in the very heart ofJapan. Textile industries
have flourished in this fertile region of picturesquelandscapes
since the Nara era, 1300 years ago. |

After linen, silk and cotton, woollen textiles became
the principal material treated here during the
Meiji and Taisho eras. In order
to satisfy the demands which came with the transition
to western clothing, the government established the
woollen factories at Senju in 1879 (12th year of
the Meiji era), whilst almost at the same time,
the development
and production of national wool textiles which were
mainly carried out in the private sector - also progressed
in the Bishu region. |
| For the following 125 years, the productive region of Bishu - with its experience
in woollen textiles destined for kimonos, and later for
made to measure suits - quickly realized the important
movement towards readyto-wear clothing, and taking advantage
of this new trend, developed rapidly to become one of
the most well known regions of woollen textile production
in the world today. |
| Today, whilst conserving woollen textile production as its principal activity,
the region has adapted to evolving demands and now also
uses a variety of different materials. The characteristics
of this productive region, however, have remained unchanged
and cover a large variety of sectors, regrouping spinning,
twisting, dying, weaving, finishing and final treatments
and also including wholesale commerce and couture. The
totality of the production process, from yarn to textile,
is all grouped together in the same geographic zone. |

|
The first reason we created JB (JOINT BISHU) as the regionユs label is the following:
the textiles of the Bishu region, reknowned not only
in Japan but all over the world, come from the collaboration
of original models and highly-perfected techniques of
all the participants in all the creative stages -spinning,
twisting, dying, weaving, finishing and final treatments.
It is thanks to the stimulation generated by the concentration
and the necessary competitive spirit shown by each and
everyone of the regionユs businesses, that the incomparable
textiles of Bishu could see the day.
The second reason we created the JB (JOINT BISHU) label
is that the textiles created in our Bishu region have
enriched the wardrobes of the citizens of Japan for many
years. Woollens in particular, occupy a dominant position
within the fashion industrty, as materials of primary
importance for outdoor garments, and this thanks also
to the collaboration and ties created with garment manufacturers
and retailers. The productive region of Bishu, as a participant
in the Japanese fashion world, is heading towards an
even closer collaboration and stronger ties with garment
manufacturers and retailers, in order to stimulate the
creation of new values and consumption, this slogan being
included in the JB label. |

The third reason is our desire to make the results obtained
from our collaboration and the ties already created
firstly within Japan, work for the worldユs fashion
industries, with the idea of adapting to the progress
of globalization. If the initails JB firstly signify
JOINT BISHU, they may also be applied to JAPAN BISHU.
Bishuユs materials are now exported to many European
countries, North America and China amongst others
and are mainly used for the garments of top labels.
We would be so proud if Bishuユs materials, produced
according to original models and outstanding techniques
in a tradition more than 130 years old, could progress
with the worldwide fashion industry as a fabric of
great quality. JB (JOINT BISHU) is seeking an even
more elegant stimulation of garment aesthetics within
the worldユs fashion industry.
|

The JB (JOINT BISHU) logoユs concept may be described
as: (1) with its textile motif, it symbolizes the the
stimulation of the creativity of all concerned by fashion
all over the world, (2) the 10 waves correspond to
the fusion of businesses in all sectors of spinning,
twisting, dying, weaving, finishing and final treatments,
as well as the ties with garment manufacturers and
retailers, without forgetting contact with the clientele,
(3) the waves symbolize the master techniques of the
region of Bishu, the contact between the two waves
giving rise to great value, which is expressed here
by a red undulation, (4) the rising spiral of the logo
corresponds to the desire that this productive region
has for development.
The ties of the productive region of Bishu have been
created with the perspective of the stimulation of the
creation of new values in the world of fashion, between
Japan and other countries the world over.
JB is a label guaranteeing stimulation to encourage the
creation of new values. |
